Finding files

Find files in a multiple folders with subfolders option. Apply individual groups of filemask filters to folders. Select specific files and folders for inclusion or exclusion.

All components can find files in the folder in which the drawing is saved. This enables very simple drawings to be used to, say, print all the files in a folder.

TextSearchBox

Multiple words or phrases. Each word or phrase can be set for case sensitivity, using wildcards or GREP search. Also, words or phrases can be set to exclude any file with them in.

Backup files

MoveCopyBox

Send files to existing zip archive or make a new one. Send files to self-extracting exe. Option to append date to backup file to prevent overwriting. Option to save zip or exe file over as many diskettes as needed. Move or copy files option. Usual options for "only if destination file is older" etc.

Printing multiple text files

PrintBox

Prints all word processor documents or other printable files, such as *.txt files. Ability to add new file types to list of printable types.

Launching files

RunBox

Launches files with the application associated with them. Use to open files that need to be opened together. For example, a group of related word processor documents and spreadsheets.

Deleting/recycling files

RemoveBox

Select for Recycle Bin or deleting files. Options for confirming operations.

Sending files to an application

RunBox

Send files to an application not associated with the files. The applications can be custom-written and will receive a filename as a parameter (for experienced programmers and users). From Drawganizer 2.03 onwards, Drawganizer can be launched by another application and return files to it.

Branches are allowed, meaning more than one component can be connected to the output of another component. For example, of the files found between set dates in a range of folders, text files could be printed, spreadsheet files could be backed up, and document files containing set words or phrases could be opened in a word processor.

Several tasks can be made on one drawing screen and run at the same time. Of course, it is not possible to, say, print files found with one group of components if another group has moved them to somewhere else first.

Running hidden - no user interaction

The drawing configured for a task is saved with the "run hidden" option. Run the drawing from a shortcut on the desktop, a scheduling program, double clicking its file etc.

Options for all components to view files found by the component and select which ones are passed to next component or are processed (eg copied). Files can be dragged and dropped from Windows Explorer or My Computer onto a component. Right mouse click events, such as renaming files, sending to zip, deleting etc.

Labels can be added to the drawing to describe what it does. The labels can be set to be shown when the user wants, such as before or after the drawing is run or if an error occurs.
